IRS Reporting Proposal

Being your neighborhood bank, CNB wants you to be aware of the new IRS reporting proposal. This proposal, if passed, would require financial institutions, like CNB, to report detailed information regarding the credits and debits on every customer's account with a balance of $600 or greater to the IRS.

While CNB normally does not engage in political topics, we want you to know that we DO NOT support this proposal and urge you to contact your state representatives in Washington. Below is a link to the Texas Bankers Association's Grassroots Action Center. They make it simple to contact your House Representatives as well as Texas Senators Cornyn & Cruz to tell them you oppose the proposal. You'll want to click ‘Take Action' on the second section titled BANK CUSTOMERS. Here you will input your address and select 'Customer Opposition Letter' from the dropdown box. You will have a chance to preview, print or send your letter directly.

We encourage you to help CNB and other local financial institutions fight to keep your information private and confidential.
